Greenacres Real Estate

Greenacres sits in the middle of Palm Beach County, west of Lake Worth Beach and south of West Palm Beach, and it is one of the more affordable places to buy a house within 20 minutes of the ocean. It incorporated in 1926 as Greenacres City and grew fastest in the 1970s and 1980s, which is when most of its housing stock was built.

The city has a large inventory of condominium and villa communities, several of them age-restricted, alongside single-family neighborhoods on modest lots. There is very little new construction, so what sells is largely a question of which decade a community was built in and whether it has been updated since.

What houses and condominiums are doing right now

In September 2026, single-family homes in Greenacres closed at a median of $460,000, at 94.3% of the original asking price and 96.3% of the final asking price, after a median 41 days on market, across 17 closings. Across the year so far, 153 closed at a median of $455,000, against 115 at $480,000 in the same period last year. There are 65 on the market now at a median asking price of $524,999, and about 3.8 months of supply, which still favors sellers.

In September 2026, condominiums and townhouses in Greenacres closed at a median of $240,000, at 96.1% of the original asking price and 97.7% of the final asking price, after a median 40 days on market, across 31 closings. Across the year so far, 306 closed at a median of $215,750, against 270 at $242,750 in the same period last year. There are 262 on the market now at a median asking price of $215,000, and about 8.5 months of supply, which gives buyers real negotiating room.

Houses and condominiums are reported separately here on purpose. Averaging the two produces a number that describes neither, and in this market the two halves frequently move in different directions.

Getting around

Interstate 95 and Florida's Turnpike are both a few minutes away, Lake Worth Road and Forest Hill Boulevard are the main arterials, and Palm Beach International Airport is roughly 15 minutes northeast. The Lake Worth Beach Tri-Rail station is the nearest commuter rail stop, and JFK Medical Center in Atlantis is close by.
